War
War is the main means of gaining land in ReIIgn. There are several concepts to war in ReIIgn that need to be understood for a successful player.
First is Declaring War. First you need to choose an appropriate target. Nations that are in an Empire are more likely to receive aid in times of need than players that are not in an empire. You should look for someone you think you can over power. For a list of nations click on the "View all nations" button on the bottom of the world stats panel. Once you have decided on a target, click on the nations name; this will open the users profile. From here you can read what the user has in their profile, view their medals, the empire they are in (if any), their region name, and their rank within their empire. On this page there are four buttons, "contact" to send them a personal Message (PM), "Deploy To" (to send units in aid, or to attack them during an Active war), "Send Resources" (to send money, trude, metal, oil, or uranium to a nation, for a price), and the one you are looking for, "Declare War" this will send a war declaration to that nation. After this button is pushed there is a 24 hour waiting period before the war becomes active. During this time, you can negotiate with the other nation or declare peace (If the other nation hasnt challenged your declaration!)
Fighting a War. When the 24 hour waiting period is up the war will show up on your military panel in bright red and it will say active. During this time you can deploy units to attack your opponent, but beware, your opponent can also attack you!. To attack your opponent you can click on the bright red banner on your Military Panel and this will open that user's profile. From here click on "Deploy". This will bring you to a screen that has a list of available units, a list of officers, and how much oil you have. to attack all you need to do is choose how many of each unit you want to send (Make sure if using armor, helicopter, or jet units that you have enough oil to use them!) and click "Issue Order". This will begin the Battle!
The First Battle! Once you've sent units on an attack they will encounter the opponents defense. Your units will always strike first. during this strike your units Ground attack, Air attack, and anti-armor values will be calculated and will deal damage to the enemy. (Don't expect the same result every time, Just like in real war, there is chance involved!) After your units first strike, your Opponents remaining defense will retaliate against your attacking units. during this strike your opponents Ground Defense, Air Defense, and Anti-armor will be calculated, and damage will be done to your attackers. After your opponents Strike your remaining units will attack again. This cycle continues until one side retreats from the battle field. A retreat happens when eitther side loses enough units to drain the morale of the force and they withdraw from the battle. Upon the retreat of your attacking force, your remaining units will be sent home depending on their travel time listed in the production panel. But upon the retreat of the enemy forces. You over run the land they were defending and capture it for your own! This land comes with what ever buildings were not destroyed in the Battle as well as 10% of the value of the units you killed! The amount of land captured depends on the size of the enemy nation.
Continuing the Fight. After the first battle you may have neutralized all of the opponents defense. If so then that nation is now at your mercy, you can continue to take land by deploying as little as 1 soldier, negotiate peace with the opponent, or maybe make them pay you not to attack them anymore (if you are that evil). If you did not kill all the defense of that nation, you can send a more attack and attempt to do so, or if they have more than the remainder of your units can handle, then either negotiate a peace, or prepare for a possible coutner attack!
